By DM McElhinney While I absolutely agree that these ducks are not just for determining the temperature of your baby in the bath water (I use a digital thermometer that is designed for swimming), those duckies are perfect for those looking to bath toys that not the growth of mold. I bought four of these when my daughter was born four years ago, because the characters were fun and she loved the ducks. I bought four more at Target when I saw a TV news segment on the growth of mold in the bath squirters. No matter how much you try to remove all water squirters, it will never completely dry out the interior since the opening on the inside is so small. When I saw the TV segment, I cut open some of the injectors and it was definitely the black mold in them. I even bleached my toys every so often and still mold them into needless to say, found they all went in the trash and went out and got more of these. This is one of the few bath toys available that are safe and I would certainly buy more of them in the future. 3 of 3 people found this review helpful. More like a toy ... By SJ Gallardo It is more a toy than a safety feature in my house. It does not seem reliable or credible. He worked the first few times I used it, but the letters "HOT" soon lost their sensitivity to heat and since then we have strictly as a bath toy. My daughter has always loved the float in the bath with her and now she is able to detect objects she wants, she wants to play with him, too. 1 of 1 people found this review helpful. Not by D.
